Who Am I?

At a Loss for Words

Thank you for getting up, showing up, and pushing past the pain as we keep digging deeper and climbing higher on day 26 of 2007.  As always, I will keep rummaging through my stack of blog dust for yet another thought-provoking message to challenge you each day to take the next step towards making your big dreams come true by faith.  It’s my heart-felt desire to find creative ways to inspire each of you to persevere as we continue to draw near to the place where you will triumphantly stand face-to-face with your divinely ordained destiny.  Excited?  I hope so.

Bad news.  Technology happens.  The original message intended for today that I thought was safe and secure got blown away by a strong gust of wind that scattered all my blog dust here, there, and everywhere but the one place I expected to find it.  It will take me awhile since the writing process for me is extremely messy and time consuming.  So please accept my apology for this deviation from moderating a conversation about a controversial topic that still deeply divides humanity’s culturally diverse village.  It’s my honest belief that the subject of today’s message plays a key role in why an overgrown bully of a giant has been blown out of proportion.  This modern day Goliath is the president of “Racism, Inc.”

Quick question.  Do you see yourself as a “giant killer” or as a “grasshopper?”  Think about it.  Until we meet again, may the peace of God be with each of you after you leave here today.

“I am your constant companion.  I am your greatest helper or heaviest burden.  I will push you onward or drag you down to failure.  I am completely at your command.  Half the things you do you might just as well turn over to me, and I will be able to do them quickly, correctly.  I am easily managed - you must merely be firm with me.  Show me exactly how you want something done, and after a few lessons I will do it automatically.  I am the servant of all great people; and alas, of all failures as well.  Those who are failures, I have made failures.  I am not a machine, though I work with all the precision of a machine plus the intelligence of a human being.  You may run me for a profit or turn me for ruin - it makes no difference to me.  Take me, train me, be firm with me, and I will place the world at your feet.  Be easy with me and I will destroy you.

…I am habit.”
