When You Feel Like Giving Up

Keeping On
“I’ve dreamed many dreams that never came true,
I’ve seen them vanish at dawn;
But I’ve realized enough of my dreams, thank God,
To make me want to dream on.“I’ve prayed many prayers when no answer came,
I’ve waited patient and long;
But answers have come to enough of my prayers
To make me keep praying on.“I’ve trusted many a friend who failed
And left me to weep alone;
But I’ve found enough of my friends true-blue
To make me keep trusting on.“I’ve sown many seeds that fell by the way
For the birds to feed upon;
But I’ve held enough golden sheaves in my hands,
To make me keep sowing on.“I’ve drained the cup of disappointment and pain,
I’ve gone many days without a song,
But I’ve sipped enough nectar from the rose of life
To make me want to live on.”–Charles Allen, The Secret Of Abundant Living

It reminds me of the quote that “What got you here, won’t get you there.” So true about how we have to keep keep’n on.

Brought tears to my eyes.

Hello Holly,
Thanks for the hug and the comment. Knowing that you’re out there appreciating my efforts to “brighten those dark days and lonely nights when all seems lost” encourages me to keep “keeping on.”
We need each other more than we’re ready and willing to admit. Each day is different than the last. How exciting!!
Hello Madena,
Thank you for being you. I enjoy reading what you have to say in your blogs because it’s “real talk.”
But by the grace of God still go I. I’m so excited that you’re only “2″ classes away from earning your Bachelor’s Degree. I tip my hat to you for choosing not to give up.
Great job and many good inspiring quotes and articles.
Get a dose of motivation everyday.

This was a nice reminder that with the bad comes the good. We sometimes have to consciously remember the positive things in life even when the negative is thrown in our faces.
Hello Shane,
Thank you for your comment. I’ve always viewed what I do as a source of “inspiration” and not as a source of “motivation.” One begins within the heart of one’s soul while the other depends on an external source.
Hello Keith,
I’ve always been told that if one is to enjoy the sweet smell of a rose, they must accept the thorns that come with it.
Thank you for stopping by and commenting.
