“Bring Our Brothers Home”(Revised)

June 2nd, 2007 at 12:54am Manchild

President George W. Bush, I prayerfully petition you to sign the executive order that will pave the way for our courageous troops to come home. It’s okay for real men to humble ourselves and admit when we’ve made a mistake. It’s time to bring our brave men and women home. Trust God.

Saying, “I was wrong,” or “I made a mistake” or “I’ve changed my mind” just might produce the “shock and awe” you sought when you initiated an escalating civil war that human hands will never win. As always, the choice to do so is yours alone to make. Only a bad wind refuses to change directions.

President Bush, the whole world is watching and waiting for you to lead by example like Jesus did, to give all God’s children a reason to cheer, to let hope wipe away every tear, to let your actions speak louder than your words.

President Bush, I beseech you to give the whole world a valid reason to start loving and respecting America again instead of hating our great nation so. Our children will thank you for generations to come. Only God knows what will happen next. In God we must still trust.

to watch the thought-provoking, soul-stirring, bone-chilling video, “Bring Our Brothers Home,” as featured on MC Hammer’s blog, “Look Look Look.” It speaks for itself.

It has been brought to my attention that some of you experienced technical difficulties last night while attempting to view “Bring Our Brothers Home” via the Internet Explorer browser.

To correct this problem, I have removed the embedded video from this post and linked this post to my wife, KWiz, who unlike me, has successfully embedded this video at Women Walking In Wisdom’s Footsteps.

Now that you’ve seen MC Hammer’s video, how many of you critical thinkers have changed your minds about the emotionally devastating war Iraq? How many of you agree that it’s time to stop the killing game that has become a crying shame in the eyes of the wise women and men who still trust only in God?

[...] Finally, as my husband, Manchild, wrote to the President in his post, “Bring Our Brothers Home (Revised)”: “Saying, ‘I was wrong,’ or ‘I made a mistake’ or ‘I’ve changed my mind’ just might produce the ’shock and awe’ you [Mr. President] sought when you initiated an escalating civil war that human hands will never win. As always, the choice to do so is yours alone to make. Only a bad wind refuses to change directions.” [...]

I don’t have to watch Mc Hammer blog, for me, what ever war is still a big no no for me. In Iraq .. after read the news of America memorial days, and seen a grave yard of late american soldier, I wish that Bush will end his war. It’s too much .. been too much for the lost mother, father, wife, husband, child and grandchild. …

    Uh…

So you would prefer to see an entire country implode just to get our boys home? Whether people agree with the war or not, we went over there and wiped out their regime. Don’t you think we have a responsibility then in ensuring that a stable government is left behind before withdrawing altogether? Don’t you think we owe the Iraqis at least that much?

You can believe that going to war was not a Christian act, but how does turning our back on a nation of people any less Christ-like, especially when we were the ones responsible for taking away their only form of government?

I think a great deal more thought needs to be given to this rather complex issue instead of singing mushy songs and demanding our government act according to our own usually ill-informed perceptions.

This issue of war is a personal one for me. My husband is in the Army & scheduled to be deployed sometime this fall. I’m conflicted. I want my husband to stay home with his family or at least not be gone as long {over a year now}. I agree with Lincoln. We did go in & turn this country upside down and we do have a responsibility to clean up our mess. However, where’s the line? There comes a point when they have to help themselves and get their own stuff together. I believe we’ll always have some kind of presence there but I don’t think it should be to the extent that it is now. I recently watched a program that focused on events that took place before we went to war. I recommend anyone watching it. It upset me.

There is so— much truth to the term “pride goeth before the fall”. Referencing war & economic challenges, why is it that the higher our position is, the harder it becomes for us to hear the voice of common people? Do I need to repeat that?
