B.M.A.D.™ in 2008 is an acronym for “Bloggers Making A Difference™ In 2008.” For new visitors, I birthed this blog January 1, 2007. Since then, I’ve learned so much from many of you about the art of blogging. In the process of reading your insightful, informative, and thought-provoking posts, I’ve learned much about myself. I look forward to doing the same this year with your help, prayers, and support.

Personal growth is always a painful process. Nevertheless, I’m a better person because you have chosen to love me despite my imperfections and great weaknesses. Hopefully, I’ve learned from the mistakes I made during my first year of blogging. If not, check me. Better to be wounded by a friend than to be kissed by an enemy.

As we begin yet another journey together, I want to ask each of you to think about what you plan to accomplish with your blogs in 2008? Knowing your purpose as a blogger will gift you with a deeper understanding of how you can improve your blogs and increase traffic to your sites?

How can you use your writing skills and your blogs to make a difference in the lives of the people you will meet “for the first time” this year? How can you use an activity that I still consider a privilege to inspire, empower, and encourage the readers who visit your blogs or subscribe to your blogs?

Let’s challenge one another to do something this year that will compel the whole world to sit up and pay attention to what bloggers have to say in 2008 to make a difference in the lives of our blended, extended family members. Let’s challenge one another to actively participate in the making and the shaping of our ever-evolving history.

What can we do to focus more attention on the ordinary, everyday people I call “unsung heroes and sheroes?” How many people do you know who have the “courage to teach” the next generation of leaders? What person’s courageous “act of faith” has had the most impact on your life? What teacher or mentor challenged to you to do more than you ever thought possible? Who still inspires you, encourages you, empowers you and loves you unconditionally?

Since Change is inevitable, I challenge myself and all my peers in the blogosphere to “B.M.A.D™ In 2008″ before it’s too late to save the next generation of leaders who are destined to become great. Are you willing to do more than you ever thought possible? I hope so.

  1. Manchild, I too keep learning more as I blog. There are so many brilliant folks out there who fill in with things I never thought of.

    May you prosper in 2008.

  2. Manchild,
This is especially refreshing to read after reading a couple of posts saying that bloggers shouldn’t reveal personal information or talk about politics, religion, or anything personal. They were talking about business blogs, but I’d much rather read a blog of a person like you who shares themselves and challenges us to become better and do more than to read an impersonal, politically correct blog.

  3. Here is a though, “What you decree is what it shall be.” If you believe it, you can achieve it. However, It does take work, dedication and determination.

The world is an ever changing place, you must keep up with Information Technology. It has changed how we do business in the world. We shall never go back. Either you go with it or it will roll over you…You have to experience these challenges to appreciate the new heights, that Life is taking you to. The things you go though in life, either goog or bad are a direct reflection of the company that you keep.

2008 will be great, if you have faith in GOD. I delare this year is the Year to Recover All.

  4. Hi bro, this it’s always worthwile reading your articles and this one i believe does not only relate on our personal blogs but also our strategies in life throughout this new year. It’s a just reflection to make and i believe anyone who reads this piece will have something to learn and to adjust. Thanks & peace!

  5. I try to meet your challenge everyday, with every blog I write. Lighting a spark in someone’s life, helping someone see they can make changes in their lives, and keeping people on the path they’ve chosen is what I do. Thanks for the thoughts……………..:)

  6. ‘Begin as you mean to go on,’ is a thought that a friend shared with me recently. Rather than setting elaborate resolutions, I prefer to simply take the first step in faith and begin a thing. My basic goal in life, which will never change, is to live a life that glorifies God and that encourages those around me to always take it higher.

Your blog is a bright spot in this world, and I encourage you to continue to speak your truth and inspire us all to do likewise.

  7. Thank you for writing so personally. You come through your writing with wings and it gave me a physical reaction when touched by the intimacy. How brave and bold. I believe this: the best part of being human is to be human openly, courageous enough to be vulnerable and live life “outloud”.

I love to write my blog posts because of what it does for me and it enables me to share and find clarity.

Congratulations on your life’s dream of writing a book.
