Bloggers For Barack Obama: “Yes We Can”

February 4th, 2008 at 11:45pm Manchild

The failed attempts by the Clintons to “marginalize” Senator Barack Obama and “minimize” the accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. validated my honest belief that voting for Barack on “Super Tuesday” is the right thing to do. Obama is a courageous candidate, who just happens to be Black, that will give all Americans hope. Matters not what ethnicity, what gender, what political affiliation, what generation, or what income bracket you claim.

Unlike Senator Hillary Clinton, Senator Obama spoke truth to power in love when the majority of our political leaders believed the infamous lie President Bush told to justify a war that has bankrupted our children’s future. Obama got it right when he refused to go-along just to get-along with the status quo who got it wrong once again. Americans are not the only great nation of great people who desperately need Change that we can all believe in. The whole world is watching and waiting to see what will happen during what will become America’s defining moment in 2008.

The words, ” I see your true colors shining through,” came to mind while watching the Clintons execute their failed character assassination of the only 2008 Presidential Candidate whose time and season I believe has finally come. Their publicly televised, fear-based actions reminded me of what frequently happens privately to Black men who boldly stand in the way of powerful people precariously perched in positions of influence. The end does not justify the means. Never did. Never will.

Together, we, as Bloggers For Barack Obama, can make a difference by casting our votes for Senator Obama on Super Tuesday. As one of the many bloggers, who are not ashamed to publicly stand with Senator Barack Obama, I honestly believe that we can impact the ultimate outcome of the 2008 Presidential election process.

Together, we can beat the odds and achieve what Obama’s opponents refused to believe was possible before now if we choose to walk together in peace and work together as one for the greater good of humanity’s global village. Do you believe? I hope so. We can’t afford to get it wrong again.

Manchild, I awoke this morning with a renewed sense of purpose about this campaign and about this candidate…not only because I know that he is giving HRC the what for, but because no matter what the turnout is, Obama has almost single-handedly energized a movement to get people to pay more attention…and I absolutely love the fact that he is doing this while running one of the most polished, honest, clean campaigns I’ve ever seen…

YES WE CAN!!! OBAMA ‘08…I know we can do it!

You are correct, the whole world is waiting to see what Americans are truly committed to. And for the world’s sake as well as yours - you cannot afford to get it wrong this time!

This election has certainly supercharged me in this area and Barack Obama is a big reason why. To tell you the truth I wasn’t on the bandwagon from the beginning because I didn’t think he had a chance. After Iowa I began to take a closer look and once the Clinton’s took it “there” that was enough for me.

Im in the DC area which holds primaries after Super Tuesday, I didn’t think by the time we voted we’d be voting for much but now we’re perhaps more important than the states that went before us because this thing is so close.

Hopefully by the time we hold the Potomac Primaries which will still follow La and some other states tomorrow Barack will hold the lead in delegates.

We are at an exciting crossroads in US - and desparate for a leader who will reach beyond the factions and wars and greed — to draw us into a larger vision that we can support!! You said it so well and thanks for the inspiration — to remind us it could just happen! Hopefully it happens befor the global community crosses us off completely! Thanks for the spark of hope - that really applies to how we engage others today too, and how we build goodwill across folks who differ!

    Hello Manchild~

Uhh- I think and believe Barrack Obama is a liar. and pulling the BS gabe over people. What really angers me is this. He states he has done drugs in the past, ahh ok cool. But cocaine? Not only that but speaks about it as if “No big Deal”
Reform is an axcuse for a Presidental hopeful in my eyes..
How can we support someome who is a hypocrite? to trust and believe in, to write laws while more than half the population incarcerated is there behind drugs? I believe government officials should hold a higher standard and accountability for their actions. Yes I know what I’m talkin about cuz I grew up on the streets and the system. I could go on and on but won’t.

    Smilin Faces
by the Undisputed Truth comes to mind when I think of Obama~ sad~
    take care
    hb!~

I think that if given a chance, this man will really try to affect the changes that he’s speaking of. The rest have all been in Washington so long that they don’t know how to do anything differently. With any of the rest, it wil be politics as usual.

    Obama is getting my vote!

    Preach!

I support Barack and have been trying to share his joy with others. Seems as most of my blogging friends are loving Obama but they are not vocal about it. However, the more voices for Obama then people will know the diversity of voices supporting him.

    Great entry! ;)
