“Somewhere between the yawn of yesterday and the early morning dew that signals the dawn of a new day, …” — Steppin’ Out Of The Darkness

Quick question. As the creative, imaginative person that you are, how would you choose to write the familiar phrase “Once upon a time, …” in order to leave a lasting impression on the minds of your readers?

Make it more scenic, more visual:

“When the world was still shrouded in a mist of superstition…”

or

“Before man had even imagined the grey concrete tomb of modern civilization…”

I would write it with a sense of passion and in a manner befitting the words that followed the introduction…

My welcome would captivate and enthrall..and entice the reader to delve with me into the past…
