Think About It

As aspiring writers, published authors, and public speakers, we never know how the word(s) we choose will impact the lives of the great people we make contact with who honestly believe the Bridge Builder will make up the difference they need to overcome the shortcomings that impede our ability to achieve great things. As we struggle to walk together in peace and work together for good in the neighborhood where you live, I will compile a list of those memorable quotes that will inspire great women and men like you to slow your roll and “think about it” as we dig deeper and climb higher than ever before.

I enjoy your take and admire your work and professional style, me, I am rough around the edges, I looked for your answer to my question about are you black or white. I could not find my comment today, I must have searched the wrong post. So, Help a brother out with an answer. I will love you either way, we are all God’s children.

It doesn’t make a difference, does it James? Whether he’s black or white…what color is the soul? or the Spirit, for that matter?

And Solomon, if you would permit me I must say…James, though we are all created by God, we are not ALL God’s children…(do you know any Liars? You do? Well then, they have a father and he is most emphatically NOT God.)

Stay walking in love though, that’s the best and perfect thing.

Copywriters MUST know how the words impact. Their task is to communicate, and there’s no such thing without the appropriate message…

    Hello Alex,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I hope that we can agree to disagree in a peaceful, respectable manner. We can learn a lot from each other if we choose to do so.

Because God gave us all the “freedom to choose,” I can’t accurately predict how my readers will respond to my words. At best, we, as writers and word smiths, can only hope that our choice of words will impact the lives of our readers in some predictable, predetermined manner.

Alex, I agree with you that our main goal as writers is to effectively communicate appropriate messages that will impact our readers and inspire them to react by doing what’s best for them. I don’t believe, however, that our God-given ability to write gives us the right to manipulate, or persuade, people to do what we desire or expect them to do.

Isn’t it interesting to watch how differently two people will respond to the same words? A good example is how differently culturally diverse people will react to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

    Dear Manchild,
I met you when I lived in California and I bought a couple of your writings for my wall; one of which was “Woman of Substance”. I must tell you that I use that as my foundation of who I am and so very proud of that writing. Back when we met you were in the process of developing a table top book with your poems. Have you published the book and if so, where can I find it. I am currently living in Boston.

My best to you and your family. I really love this website.

You raise good points about the impact words carry. Words are powerful things – I can see your gifting in conveying precise messages through your chosen text. Best wishes to you for every success! God bless!

I’m new to the blogging world, but not the writing world. The words of a writer can affect and change people’s lives. It’s a true gift and I thank God each and every day for allowing me to put paper to pen. It’s a feeling only another writer could possibly understand.

    I whole~heartedly agree.
Words can poison, words can sting, words can crush…if they are used with ill will and malice.
And yet, the same pen can create love, joy, beauty and prose….it can spill words onto parchment so eloquent…the reader is taken to tears…
The difference lies within the author, the writer, the user…and that is indeed a power that can be mind chilling and yet so satisfying for the soul.
